According to the Childhood Bereavement Estimation Model, 1 in 10 children in New Mexico will experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18. We know if not supported, grief can have a serious impact on learning, academic performance, social withdrawal, and behavioral problems. We can all play a part in supporting a bereaved child…please join this discussion about a common yet overlooked issue…childhood bereavement and how your school community can strive to become grief sensitive.

- insights on how to support students who are grieving the death of a family member, friend, or peer in general, and specifically during the pandemic bereavement
