First Do No Harm: Understanding Sensory Processing Disorder 

As a teacher, are you encountering behaviors that were not part of your teacher training? Current research states that 1 in 5 (20%) of children now have mental health issues, 1 in 6 (16%) have Sensory Processing Disorder, 1 in 25 (4%) have PTSD, and 1 in 36 (2.7%) have Autism Spectrum Disorder. General education teachers now have to accommodate many disparate needs. Joanie teaches techniques for observation, strategies for success, and shares her perspective as both a mother and teacher of children with special needs. 

Through simple songs and stories, Joanie provides a curriculum of material from around the world, intended to teach children that though someone may come from a different country, dress differently and speak in a different language, we can all still get along.
