This workshop series will fortify your toolkit and deepen your knowledge about flexibility, readiness, connection, and unmasking – the four ‘neurological imperatives’ from ‘Teaching to Every Kid’s Potential: Simple Neuroscience Lessons to Liberate Learners’ (Kalbfleisch. 2021), that influence and can be used to optimize learning.
Dr. K asserts that all teachers are ‘dendritic engineers: Get ready to animate teaching and learning in new ways! First, your thinking will pivot so you can use the tools and knowledge you already have in new ways. Then, Dr. K will model new strategies and mindsets that extend your repertoire. Each workshop unfurls one imperative, aligning it with the development of specific executive functions and pragmatic approaches, eliminating any guesswork about how to make this information applicable to your own teaching.
She will model skills and mindsets that disrupt moments of stress, anxiety and trauma, and
teach you how to break some of the bad habits of learning that have come from assumptions about
how kids learn.
