Free virtual workshop open to all Early Childhood Educators in New Mexico

Dr. Kalbfleisch’s workshop series is based on her upcoming book, ‘Teaching to Every Kid’s Potential: Simple Neuroscience Lessons to Liberate Learners’ (W.W. Norton, Sept 2021). These workshops will follow the book’s first three chapters that outline paradoxes about how our brains learn and highlight certain biases that keep us from recognizing learning potential in our children. Here, we will examine how trauma influences each of these fundamental elements for optimal learning with special attention to the impact that trauma has on executive functioning. Specific strategies will be shared to sharpen your eye and enrich your instructional toolbox. Expect to brainstorm, apply, and elaborate how each of these elements can inform your current practice.
