The Meaning Behind Stressed Behavior in Young Children
December 7, 2020 @ 12:15 pm - 2:00 pm
Open to all Early Childhood Educators in Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Los Alamos Counties
Challenging, or stressed behavior, seems to be the hardest part of most educators’ work with young children. This offering will explore the meaning behind stressed behavior through a better understanding of what happens when a child experiences trauma, and how we can use that understanding to provide children with what they need from us. And while all stressed behavior is not due to trauma, we’ll look at why a trauma-informed perspective can help us make meaning of a wide range of children’s (and our own!) behavior.
