EARLY CHILDHOOD LITERACY SERIES: STRATEGIES, IDEAS, AND RESOURCES FOR PROMOTING THE LINK BETWEEN SOCIAL EMOTIONAL AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT FREE VIRTUAL DECEMBER WEBINAR SERIES
Did you know that social emotional development and early literacy development occur on a parallel path within the context of positive relationships? Well, they do! When we begin to see the ways in which social-emotional and literacy skills are linked, we see the importance of intentionally finding ways to embed strategies that connect these areas through everyday interactions and routines.

SESSION 1: We will introduce the link between social emotional and literacy development; discuss why the link is important for us to think about; and explore fun examples to demonstrate the link.
SESSION 2: We will focus on the use of culturally relevant children’s books and storytelling to promote the link between social emotional and literacy development.
SESSION 3: We will continue to think about strategies and resources to strengthen the link between social emotional and literacy development using the Pyramid Model as our framework (relationships, environments, and teaching strategies).
Participants will receive a certificate for 6 hours of training after completing all three sessions.
