The New Mexico Association for the Education of Young Children (NMAEYC) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), founded in 1965 and 1926 respectively, have both led the way toward excellence in high-quality early care and education for decades. A NEW membership structure has been introduced in September of 2017!
When you become a member of NMAEYC, you also become a member of NAEYC.
Membership offers you two affiliations in one, allowing you to tap into national resources and networks, and NMAEYC’s state networks and policy matters.
With nearly 80,000 members from more than 300 Affiliates and more than 120 countries, including teachers, administrators, parents, educators, and policy members, NAEYC is committed to bringing high-quality early care and education to all young children.
In New Mexico, NMAEYC has more than 1,000 members. The chapters formally recognized under NAEYC are now optional to join and are independent of NAEYC membership. The NMAEYC state affiliate can aid in connecting individuals to specific chapters that help promote NMAEYC/NAEYC initiatives. The NMAEYC state affiliate is dedicated to supporting high-quality early care and education programs that lay the foundation for school readiness, academic success, and adult achievement.
How long is my membership valid for?
Your NMAEYC membership is good for one year from the time the application is processed, and payment is made in full.
When should I expect to see my welcome package?
New members can expect to receive their welcome package with membership ID card approximately 3–4 weeks after their membership has been activated.
Can my organization join NAEYC?
NAEYC is a professional association with membership for the individual, not organizations. Discounts are offered to organizations purchasing 50 or more Standard or Premium memberships at one time and through one payment transaction.
My center is accredited by NAEYC. Are all the staff of the center automatically members of NAEYC?
No. Membership to NAEYC is on an individual basis and it is not included as part of accreditation.
How do I access my membership account and view my benefits?
Login to your member account. If it’s your first time logging in, or you’ve forgotten your password, select the ‘forgot password‘ icon.
Once you’ve logged in, you can review your contact information, verify membership details, view invoices, access benefits, renew, and more. If you have any questions about your subscriptions or benefit fulfillment, please contact NAEYC Customer Care via the ‘Contact Us’ form, via email or call 800-424-2460, option 4.
