Program Description: 
HELP-New Mexico (HELP-NM) is a statewide community-based organization, and a community action agency whose mission is to create self-sufficiency and promote economic opportunities to strengthen families. Today, HELP-NM’s four main areas of service are Early Childhood Education, Workforce Development, Family Services, and Community Economic Development. The key services in Early Childhood Education include Head Start, Early Head Start, State Pre-Kindergarten, and a fee-for-service childcare center.

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Responsible for the overall health, safety, and quality of care and education for infants; birth to 17 months of age. Will plan, prepare, and develop classroom curriculum; and interact with children in activities to promote social, physical, and cognitive growth appropriate to the child’s developmental stage.
• Will carry out classroom activities in conformance with the Head Start Performance Standards, as well as other program standards, policies, and procedures.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

 High School Diploma or GED
 Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a New Mexico Child Development Credential (CDC) or Associates Degree in Early Childhood or willing to obtain
 1-year experience working with children ages birth – 5 years of age
 Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred
 Current Driver’s License, First Aid/CPR Certifications
 Proficiency in basic computer programs
