Looking for educator to work Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in 3-4 or 3-5 year old classroom or an educator to work Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesdays 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the 2-3 year-old classroom that can achieve the following: University United Methodist Church understands that its core purpose, and the purpose for all of its programs and ministries (including Bright Beginnings Learning Center) is "so that all people may come to know Christ, grow in Christ, and show Christ's love." The position of Teacher and all duties and responsibilities contained herein are understood to be in keeping with this over-arching sense of purpose and focus on Christian ministry. Responsibilities
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Scope of Responsibilities: The Teacher is responsible for maintaining the curriculum and environment in their classroom, working with BBLC Director, BBLC Board members, staff and families to achieve Bright Beginnings mission and objectives while implementing a quality run program that aligns with NM Early childhood classroom standards.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Position Summary: This position serves the church and includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Review, identify, and implement curriculum and classroom requirements set up by state licensing, including the FOCUS program, as they pertain to BBLC through the use of actual licensing regulations. While following the National Association for the Education of Young Children's Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs.
a. Implement an instructional program which meets the total development needs of the children (e.g. physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs) and includes health care, nutrition, safety and multicultural sensitivity.
b. Locates or creates appropriate learning materials related to thematic units
c. Compiles with local, state and federal policies, rules and regulations
d. Set up classroom in accordance with CYFD regulations
e. Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans
f. Conduct parent teacher conferences twice a year
2. Assist in planning and implementing parent trainings and events
3. Attends scheduled parent meetings, staff meeting, professional development trainings, etc.
4. Communicates effectively with director, other staff members, BBLC Board Members, students and families
5. Supervises students while on site
6. Works as a team member to effectively facilitate the total operation of program goals and objectives
7. Displays a desire and enthusiasm for working with young children and their families
8. Uses time effectively; is punctual and has good attendance
9. Serves on committees as assigned i.e. special events, fundraising, safety, etc
10. Clean up all areas used during the day
11. Work with outside organizations in best interest of the students
12. Perform portfolio assessments for evaluations on each student
13. Develop and change as necessary the classroom schedule and environment to assure they are developmentally appropriate
14. Maintain training hours necessary to keep requirements required for licensing regulations
15. Submit requests for all needed classroom supplies or maintenance to BBLC Director in a timely manner
16. Address all areas of personal and family concerns to the BBLC Director and BBLC Board if necessary
17. Submit time sheets and reimbursement requests to BBLC Director at least 2 days prior to payday
18. Dress professionally and appropriately to and Early Childhood environment and ministry of the church
